HAST Test Chamber Selection Guide

HAST.jpg

HAST test chambers come in two types:

✅ Unsaturated: Suitable for short-term rapid testing (such as initial screening of product waterproofing performance), temperature and humidity ≤95%RH

✅ Saturated: Used for long-term reliability verification (such as battery/chip life testing), capable of achieving 100%RH saturation.

Tip: Choosing the unsaturated type saves costs; the saturated type is suitable for companies with strict lifespan requirements.

1. Focus on Temperature and Humidity Range and Stability

Key parameters to consider:

① Temperature: Coverage of 100-180℃, with optimal fluctuation within ±0.5℃ (to avoid data errors)

② Humidity: Adjustable from 90-100%RH, with fluctuation ≤ ±2%RH (otherwise, test accuracy will be affected)

Recommendation: Request a temperature and humidity fluctuation curve from the manufacturer before purchase to ensure equipment stability.

2. Control System and Safety Features are Essential

① Temperature Control System: Prioritize equipment with PID intelligent control for automatic temperature and humidity adjustment.

② Data Recording: Support for data export (e.g., RS485/RS232 interface) for easy traceability of test results.

③ Safety Protection: Must include over-temperature protection, over-pressure protection, and water shortage protection to prevent hazards caused by equipment malfunction.

3. Chamber Material and Sealing Must Meet Standards

① Chamber: SUS304 stainless steel is recommended; it is corrosion-resistant and easy to clean.

② Door Seal: Silicone material is resistant to high temperature and pressure to prevent moisture leakage after long-term use.

③ Sealing Ring: Double-layer sealing design prevents steam leakage from the chamber, which could affect test data.

4. After-Sales Service is More Important Than Price

① Installation and Commissioning: The manufacturer provides on-site installation and operation training (ATMARS).

② Maintenance Guarantee: Choose a brand that offers a warranty of more than 1 year; key components (such as sensors) can be replaced individually (ATMARS).

③ Note: Low-priced equipment may have high maintenance costs in the later stages; it is recommended to prioritize reputable manufacturers. (ATMARS)
